I felt very comfortable speaking French with everyone and loved the environment that was created during the program. (…) I really liked being included in all that the family did. Whether it was playing piano, taking dance lessons, watching aikido lessons or just chilling at the house. I don’t think I’ll ever forget what a great time we all had together. Thank you endlessly.

« Arles à la carte is a great way to learn a language, in my case french. The atmosphere is somewhere between a little school and a private session in your living room. »

During my short 3 weeks in Arles I have learned more here than in my 9 years studying French (…) Words cannot express my overwhelming satisfaction with this program.

Katie has done a magnificent job in providing individually designed French programmes for three of our four children over an 18 month period. Each course was very successful in its own way, targeting preparation for US SATs, public exams, and more basic linguistic competence. Katie is very hands-on and focused on the detail of the programme (both academic and cultural). She took a personal interest in each of the children, accompanying them on wonderful outings and being involved in the tuition. We can’t recommend her and Arles à la carte too highly – our fourth child hopes to attend in the near future.

Katie was very friendly and was a fabulous teacher, which was welcoming in a country where I did not speak the language. The location was very authentically French and was also convenient.

The teachers and housing were both excellent, and the program coordinator was very prepared to manage all aspects of the trip smoothly.

An awesome, eye-opening cultural immersion experience. Arles is a great location for this program. We could walk everywhere, the city was pretty safe and open, and the school was easily accessible. I could go on forever about this program. I loved it.

I liked the structure of the class; the lunch with the professors at the half way point really gave us much more insight and time to debrief all we learned in the mornings. All the professors were very well qualified for the courses we were offered, and were willing to help. I really adored the location on the program. It was right in the city center, and the host families lived at a distance where I was able to enjoy a 10 minute walk every morning and truly feel like a local.

If you have the option to study in France with Arles à La Carte, there is no decision to be made. You simply must go!

As Canadian seniors traveling to France for an extended visit, Arles à la carte enabled us to be more connected with the community both linguistically and culturally. Since attending Arles à la carte, we have traveled extensively in France. We are better able to participate in conversations and have a deeper understanding of what we are experiencing.

It was the best, most rewarding learning experience of my life. I loved everything about this experience. Katie, the director, made sure everything was taken care of, and the program was highly organized. My instructor was amazing. She made it easy to feel comfortable, yet she was very honest and critical without being harsh, which was just what I needed. She made all topics fun and I learned so much from her.

Everything I was learning in class I was able to use out in the streets and in my host families’. The conversation class I took in Arles was one of the best classes I’ve taken in my entire study of French.
