After receiving her undergraduate degree in French and English literature from Cornell University and a Masters in North African folktales and Women’s Studies at l’Université de Paris 8, Katie began her career as Project Manager and Financial Officer at the study abroad leader IES Abroad in Paris and Arles. In response to a growing demand for individualized French and English language programs, she created Arles à la carte in 2010. Katie has also taught English and French to students of all ages and levels since 2006 (St Charles Middle + High School, Arles Chamber of Commerce Continuing Education Center, TAPIF English teaching Assistant Program, Arles à la carte).
As a professor of French as a Foreign Language (FLE) since 1998, Emmanuelle taught French in schools and language centers in Madagascar, Morocco, and the south of France before joining the Arles à la carte team. Her enthusiasm as well as her many years of teaching experience in France and abroad are an asset to our students.
